This largest spa city in the country was settled by the Czech king Charles IV. in the middle of the 14th century. Legend says that the king found the Carlsbad springs during the hunting. Spa treatment using healing hot springs are not the only speciality of this European city.
Karlovy Vary is also famous for its Moser Glass, herbal liquor Becherovka and Karlovy Vary International Film Festival with over the half century long history.
